Who is the Highest Wicket-Takers in NPL 2024

Janakpur Bolts Spinner Lalit Rajbanshi and New Zealand player Scott Kuggeleijn are at the top with the most wickets, taking 17 each. They are the Highest Wicket-Takers in NPL 2024

There was an exciting competition in the list of highest wicket-takers. Sometimes Nepali players would be on top, sometimes foreign players would be on top.

While Rohit continued to lead in batting, the list of highest wicket-takers was constantly changing. Bowlers would take wickets to reach the top spot when they were playing. When Peri was playing for another team, another bowler would take wickets to move up the list.

After the league stage, New Zealand player Scott Kuggeleijn from the Far West is at the top with the most wickets, taking 17. Among the top ten bowlers, three players have also taken 5 wickets in a single match. Karnali’s William Bosisto, who took 6 wickets in a single match, is not in the top ten.

Scott Kuggeleijn, who was at the top, also took 5 wickets in a single match against Pokhara. Then, in the last league match, he took 2 wickets against Karnali and reached the top spot. He took 3 wickets against Biratnagar, 2-2 against Lumbini and Chitwan, and 1 wicket against Janakpur. He did not take a wicket against Kathmandu.

Nepali duo Lalit Rajbanshi and Sohail Tanvir, who are the second and third highest wicket-takers, have taken 16 wickets each. Lalit from Janakpur took 3 wickets each against Biratnagar, Pokhara and Kathmandu, 2 wickets against Chitwan and 1 wicket each against Karnali and Lumbini. He could not take a wicket against Sudurpaschim.

Similarly, Rijan took 3 wickets each against Pokhara and Lumbini and 2 wickets each against Sudurpaschim, Janakpur and Biratnagar. He took 1 wicket against Kathmandu and remained wicketless against Karnali.

Similarly, Sohail Tanvir of Chitwan and Rijan Dhakal of Chitwan too have taken 14 and 13 wickets. Although Tanvir performed brilliantly in the opening match, he could not maintain that rhythm.

Tanvir had a brilliant start by taking 5 wickets against Kathmandu in the first match and 3 wickets against Pokhara in the second match. After that, he took a total of 4 wickets in 5 matches. Tanvir, who took 2 wickets against Janakpur in the last match, took 1 wicket each against Sudurpaschim and Biratnagar. He remained wicketless against Karnali and Lumbini.

Despite not having an expected start, Kathmandu captain Karan KC has taken wickets continuously in the last matches. He remained wicketless against Chitwan in the first match. After that, he took 1 wicket each against Karnali and Sudurpaschim, took 4 wickets against Lumbini. 2 against Janakpur, 3 against Pokhara and 1 against Biratnagar.

Similarly, Gerard Erasmus of Kathmandu has taken 11 wickets, while Harsh Thakar and Kishor Mahato of Janakpur have taken 10 wickets each. After that, 7 players have taken 9 wickets.

Ali Zaib of Sudurpaschim, Pratish GC and Chris Soul of Biratnagar, Bipin Sharma of Karnali, Bipin Khatri of Pokhara, Saad Bin Zafar and Raymond Simmonds of Lumbini have taken 9 wickets each.
