Nepal Premier League 2024 Points Table: Janakpur Bolts claimed an early lead in the NPL Season 1 standings following an 8-wicket win over Biratnagar Kings in the tournament opener on Saturday (November 30)
After Lalit Rajbanshi, Harsh Thaker and Kishore Mahato helped bundle the Biratnagar Kings to 127 All Out in 19 overs, Lahiru Milantha smashed an unbeaten fifty to take Janakpur Bolts home with 4.3 overs to spare.
Milantha (75* off 53 balls) shared an impressive 117-run stand from 81 balls along with Harsh Thaker (29* off 33 balls) to dig the Janakpur Bolts out after the opening pair of marquee player Aasif Sheikh and skipper Anil Shah fell inside 2 overs with just 6 runs on the board.
Earlier, New Zealand legend Martin Guptill scored 55 off 43 balls in the only telling contribution for the Kings, who saw only another batter Aqib Ilyas (15) enter double figures.For the Bolts, Rajbanshi was the top wicket-taker with figures of 3 for 28, while Kishore Mahatao and Harsh Thaker chipped in with figures of 2 for 18 and 2 for 22 respectively.
